NOWA project kicked off the AWF consortion activities by organizing three webinars in each of the native languages spoken in the project. First webinar was organized by the NOWA Norwegian partner Remiks Miljøpark AS on the 7th of June, followed by KAMK UAS (Kajaani University of Applied Sciences) on the 10th of June, and Swedish webinar organized by REBAB – Restproduktbearbetning I Boden AB on the 17th.
Each of the webinars took an angle to their respective countries’ waste management situations – how to make things better, how to develop, and how to establish the cross-border cooperation in the best, most effective ways. The webinars had speakers from around the project area; and in whole had over 70 participants ranging from waste management officials to city council members.
“Our webinar was a joint webinar with Norce and Avfall Norge, focusing on both the NOWA project and international collaboration, and the benefits of both. The regional waste management cluster in Northern Norway was also a cohosting the webinar, and the companies in the cluster were represented.” Says Stian Larsen, the NOWA project official at Remiks Miljøpark AS in Norway.
“I think that this is a small but meaningful foundation to continue the waste management work in Sweden. I am hopeful for the upcoming seminars this fall, and for the future in general! I am also glad of all the support the NOWA project and the idea of Arctic Waste Forum gets around the country – specifically the waste management association of Sweden, Avfall Sverige”, comments Robert Näslund, the CEO of REBAB in Sweden.
The NOWA team is excited to continue the good work for the project and for AWF, aiming to truly become the Voice of the Arctic Waste Management!
